We now have a specialist musculoskeletal practitioner available to our patients.

Musculoskeletal first contact practitioners have enhanced skills and can help patients with issues such as back, neck and joint pain by:

• assessing and diagnosing issues (including screening for serious pathology)
• giving expert advice on how best to manage their conditions
• referring them onto specialist services if necessary (for example physiotherapy, orthopaedics, specialist scans)

When you describe your symptoms to the receptionists, they may direct you to this service, and if so, we would always encourage our patients to take up the offer.

This service is provided by a registered health professional who is the first point of contact for patients, providing new expertise and increased capacity to general practice, and provides patients with faster access to the right care.

You can arrange to either speak to the practitioner over the phone or you can be seen for a face to face assessment, which will take place at Nutgrove Villa, Huyton, L36 6GA.

The practitioner works with our practice once a week and is available to be booked in advance.
